DVD REVIEW: First Sunday

This is a bad movie.
There are two funny jokes.
One was when LeeJohn Jackson (Tracy Morgan) explained to other characters how he was named: His mom had two boyfriends, Lee and John, and she didn't know which one was his father.
The other was when the janitor showed up. There really is something humorous in the concept of a blind, deaf man, oblivious to his surroundings, cleaning up around a hostage situation.
But otherwise, this is a bad movie.
From the looks of him, from the way he talks, from the way he acts, you'd think Ice Cube had some talent. You'd think he could be in some good movies. But his resume, so far, is underwhelming.
Like so many of his previous works, this is a bad movie.
Even if you're in that small slice of the demographic pie (wherever it is) that likes Tracy Morgan, we think you'll be disappointed in his performance here. If you're in that huge, overwhelming majority of people who can breathe that think he's repulsively annoying, well, you probably won't be disappointed.
Katt Williams, it should be noted, has done a fine service to humanity in his personal life: He's adopted seven children. He did a terrible disservice to humanity when he agreed to a role in First Sunday.
Because this is a bad, bad movie.
